Learn Tarot by Comparison - The High Priestess

We continue this journey with The High Priestess.
Start at the beginning with The Fool.

The High Priestess makes me think "Keeper of the secrets". Intuitions, mysteries, wisdom, knowledge.

For this comparison, I have used these decks:  Crystal Visions Tarot, Sun and Moon Tarot, The Housewives of Tarot and The Gilded Tarot.

In all of these images you can see that The High Priestess seems to know something the rest of us don't.

She almost gives the air of freedom, as if her knowledge is power and she doesn't have to worry.

Her higher knowledge also gives her an air of mystery. Like she's keeping the secrets of the universe.

What do you see when you compare these cards? Try comparing a few decks and let me know if you're making the same connections!

I hope you're finding this way of teaching helpful!

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Hi Sonya,
Thanks for this series of posts. I've been learning tarot for the last 2-3 months (I'm already an intuitive rune reader and clair-everything medium). Two of my decks are Crystal Visions and The Sun and Moon, which is how I found you. My other two decks are the Destiny tarot (my first, a RWS clone) and Shadowscapes. I'm loving the process of comparing them and looking for similarities, or differences. I've noticed that if there's a card I'm struggling to understand, looking at the image from a different deck can help enormously. Two for me were the Hierophant - Shadowscapes helped me with that, with him being a tree - rooted in tradition and the wisdom of the ages are the words that came to me while looking at it. Another was the Four of Pentacles - no matter how many descriptions I read, I couldn't quite grasp it, until I saw the Crystal Visions image - wow, powerful!
Bright blessings on your spiritual explorations,
    Melanie
